Games Releasing: February 2019

So with January about to come to a close with the (finally) release of Kingdom Hearts 3, here are a few picks of titles arriving in February of 2019!

1. Away: Journey to the Unexpected
Releases: Feb 5 (PS4) Feb 13 (PC), Feb 7 (Switch), Feb 8 (XB1)

When I first saw this in the Kinda Funny Games Showcase awhile back, I was taken back to how colorful and cool this looks. It is a first person RPG with Paper Cut looking characters that remind me a bit of Dragon Quest mixed with Paper Mario. This one features Rogue-Lite elements and a funny and lighthearted story. This game is set to release on early February for all consoles and around February 13th for Steam.

2. GOD EATER 3
Releases: Feb 8 (PS4, PC)

First releasing way back on the PlayStation Portable, the GOD EATER franchise has since moved onto the PS4 and PC and became a pretty big hit among fans of the Hunting Genre spawned originally by the hit franchise Monster Hunter. GOD EATER 3 looks like it's going to improve on the formula from the previous titles and features a robust Character Creator. This game is sure to be a good play for folks that love the Hunting Genre such as myself, only with a touch more "Anime" to it. This title is set to release on February 8th on PS4 and Steam.

3. Yo-Kai Watch 3
Releases: Feb 8 (3DS)

Because I guess folks still use their 3DS? This is another entry into the Yo-Kai Watch series on the Nintendo 3DS, a long running RPG series that was much in the vein of Pokemon before. This game is set to release on February 8th for the 3DS.

4. Metro Exodus
Releases: Feb 15 (PC, PS4, XB1)

The third entry in the post apocalyptic world set in Russia and based on the Novel of the same name, Metro Exodus promises to bring more bang, more action and more scares as we venture into the Metro once again! Featuring very impressive visuals rivaling the incredible step-up the original Metro games were in their times and now featuring more expanded features, this game is sure to be another very satisfying entry, one of the games on this list I am personally very excited for! Metro Exodus releases on February 15th for PS4, Xbox One and Steam.

5. JUMP FORCE
Releases: Feb 15 (PC, PS4, XB1)

Can it get more "Anime" than this? Probably not! Jump Force looks to be one of the biggest anime crossovers ever, with a bevy of characters from series such as Dragon Ball Z, One Piece, Bleach, Fist of the North Star, Yu-Gi-Oh! and more, there's sure to be something here for you. The game also seems to feature an extremely robust character creator (Pig tailed girl shooting Kamehamehas and summoning Blue Eyes White Dragon anyone?) and an overly serious and edgy storyline, here's hoping the game lives up to what is being shown off here! Jump Force is set to release on February 15th for PS4, Xbox One and Steam.

6. Crackdown 3
Releases: Feb 15 (PC, XB1)

The long delayed Crackdown 3 is (maybe?) releasing next month. Now featuring some wacky gameplay and inhuman acrobatics featuring Terry Crews, the game promises to bring back some classic Sandbox Game fun... unless it gets delayed again. Crackdown 3 is set to release (Maybe?) on February 15th for Xbox One and PC.

7. Far Cry: New Dawn
Releases: Feb 15 (PC, PS4, XB1)

The first direct sequel in the Far Cry franchise, Far Cry: New Dawn takes place 17 years after Far Cry 5 in a post apocalyptic world after being invaded by a new baddy crew, it's now your job to take them down, as is the usual Far Cry fare. Far Cry: New Dawn features a much more vibrant color palette with an emphasis on Pink! The game also takes it's progression in a new way, taking the more recent Assassin's Creed's RPG mechanics in mind it's going to be what may be the most divisive Far Cry title to date. Far Cry: New Dawn is set to release on February 15th.

8. Yakuza Kiwami PC
Releases: Feb 19 (PC)

This game came out last year on the PS4, but after the release of the excellent Yakuza 0 on PC, looks like we're getting the series in chronological order for PC. Yakuza Kiwami is a full on remaster of the very first Yakuza, which originally had it's debut on the PS2. Yakuza Kiwami is undoubtedly going to offer hours upon hours of both Side content and an endearing story. Yakuza Kiwami is set to release on February 19th on Steam.

9. Anthem
Releases: Feb 22 (PC,PS4, XB1)

The latest big title from BioWare, Anthem is poised to be the next big coop game in the veins of similar titles like Destiny. Featuring 4 fully customizable suits called Javelins, engage enemies in a fully vertical space as the game allows you to fight on the ground, fly or even swim. We just had a decent taste thanks to the recently released VIP Demo, and even though it had it's fair share of issues, the game was still good fun. Anthem takes flight on February 22nd on PS4, Xbox One and Origin.
