De Blob Review
Today I review a game called De Blob which is a 3D platformer made by Blue Tongue Entertainment.

These ink punks aren’t about that color life, so it’s up to you to spice the world back up again… free the worlds artists, and bring the 10 different stages back to life. This game was originally released on Wii in 2008 and is finally coming to the ps4, pc, and Xbox one nearly 10 years later, and while the gameplay holds up, standards have changed and the experience isn’t as great as it once was. De Blob starts out really clever and charming, You’re a clear blob that can take over any color by slamming onto it or rolling over it… And as you would imagine you can create new colors by mixing different colors... And you have to store color up to 100 but what do you do with these colors?
You repaint the town...

It has that ps1 feeling of gameplay, but it gets really stale really fast, you basicaly do the same thing over and over again, I only tried it on PC so I don't know if it's more satisfying to play on Wii.

The idea of the game is a good one.. And I was having fun the first hour or so but the novelty quickly wears off. Bouncing around as a color blob starts to feel more like a chore than a fun color filled game with a world to save. There is a free paint mode where you can freely run around levels you’ve completed, there’s a mode where you can play with up to 4 other players, and there are additional challenges unlocked for each of the stages to extend this games play time long beyond 8 hours. But I don't really think anyone would do that.

RATING: 8/10

It's simple, the evil I.N.K.T. Corporation has declared 'Color is a Crime!' and leeched Chroma City of all its beauty and interest. The race to rescue Chroma City has just begun, and only de Blob can save the world from a black-and-white future with his unique abilities to color the world back to life. Something you would expect for a child friendly platformer.

RATING: 5/10

It has it's own art style, but it's 10 years old and you can feel it, some people thought they will remaster it in the PC release, but no. I don't mind old looking games, but this just feels too simple.

Music in this game is really funky and groovy, sounds on the other hand can get really annoying. One of the best features in this game is that before each level you can change what music will play ( changing the mood of the blob)

It might be a fun game for some, but I didn't really enjoy it. It's fun at the beginning but gets stale really quickly. If the game had more variety in levels it would be amazing, but this is just something you may want to play with your kid, or something you would relax to.

I actually remember playing this game on the Wii when it first came out, and I loved the concept of the game. Really good fun during family events, during parties etc. Sadly, it does get a bit old quite quickly.
