Leisure Suit Larry Series Review – Wet Dreams Don’t Dry & Wet Dreams Dry Twice

⚠️ Warning: This game (and this article) contains content intended for mature audiences (18+).

Have you ever heard of Larry Laffer? He’s an optimistic, middle-aged, balding, and socially awkward man who truly believes he’s every woman’s dream… even though he most definitely is not. Larry comes from an old-school game series that started back in the ’80s, so If his name doesn’t ring a bell, well, maybe you’re just too young to know.

"Leisure Suit Larry - Wet Dreams Don't Dry" tells a brand new story about Larry. This time, he wakes up alone in a dark room, and when finally goes outside, he sees that everything has changed, somehow transported from the 1980s into the 21st century with modern reality, sounds fun right? Our Protagonist ends up at a bar and here he meets his old friend Lefty who tells him he's been missing for over 30 years! While exploring the bar, Larry finds a strange smartphone in the bathroom, to his surprise, the phone starts talking, powered by an advanced AI named Pi. Pi explains that she's a prototype and needs to be returned to her original owner, and here Larry agrees to help and ends up meeting Faith, a woman he instantly falls for, but she only dates men with a perfect score on dating app, Timber! So, what’s our clueless protagonist going to do about that? At first, this new world might seem exciting, but for Larry, it’s not easy at all. He doesn’t understand things like smartphones, dating apps, or social media. Still, even if he feels lost and confused, our balding guy stays positive and keeps making silly and naughty jokes, just like always.

The game is a classic point-and-click adventure, you pick up items, talk to characters, and solve puzzles. The humor is great, but the puzzles? Not always, some are easy and make sense, but others can be confusing, especially If you're new to this type of game, there's a good chance you’ll get stuck and end up googling a guide just to figure out what to do next. To make things easier, it really helps to read the description of every item in your inventory, that gives you a clue about what it’s used for and what it might combine with and don’t forget to hold the spacebar in each location, it shows everything you can interact with.

Can't say the same about story, it's pretty good, polished, not deep, just fun, nothing more, nothing less to add really. Visually the game also look good, voice acting is also on point.

"Leisure Suit Larry – Wet Dreams Don’t Dry Twice" is a direct sequel, and I won’t spoil what happens, but if you plan to play the series, it’s best to play both games in order. Larry’s adventures aren’t for everyone. If you enjoy naughty humor, adult jokes, and old-school point-and-click puzzles, this might be a fun ride for you. Personally? I’m not a fan, wouldn’t really recommend it, but I also wouldn’t call it a bad game either, it’s well made, that's for sure and I can see why people might like it, it's just..... not for me. In the end, it’s the kind of game where you either laugh along with Larry… or you quietly uninstall and forget, but it was worth to try.
