STUFFED Review

DEVELOPER - Waving Bear Studio, PublisherTheGamePublisher.com

A spooky teddy bear first-person shooter where you defend your owner from waves of her nightmares.

Play solo or join your friends in up to 4 player online co-op.

In a world of a child's dreams, the nightmares lurk in the backgrounds. The night terrors you must fight against as the lovable and cuddly hero that is your teddy bear.

Fight the evil gnomes, ducks, robots, shadow men and its dark shadows in this Call of Duty: Zombies style arena.

Will you save your owner, and give her the pleasant dreams she so deserves, or will the darkness creep in?

Gameplay

STUFFED features a hands-on tutorial, that will show the ropes, its a great tutorial that teaches everything that you need to know to play the game.

The game is pretty cute in my opinion, and it has a great selection of customizable options in its store, ranging from the bears color's, designs and you can also customize how your weapons look too.

Obviously, I had to choose the tiger outfit, because it looked amazing!

In this FPS action adventure, you are a teddy bear, sworn to protect your owner from the nightmares, using a vast variety of weapons, skills and talent upgrades.

Level up your skills at a makeshift upgrade station made of cardboard, you can select 1 of 3 skills per level at this table, you could be given anything from health increase, to max ammo, to infinite sprinting.

Find your 5-minute craft looking weapons scattered around the map, from fast firing slingshots, to rocket style launchers, and even a sniper rifle. You can also find Grenades and powerups in the map too.

While the ammo may be limited with chances that you can upgrade your ammo capacity in the level up table, bullets will start disappearing quickly, the enemies in rounds 5 and onwards take so much bullets.

The worse enemies are the large shadow men, and the small dark shadows. Shadow men are like bosses with lots of health, and will always head towards the door, the dark shadows will gun for you and the door, and by the lord are they fast.

Did I mention, that you must protect the door of your owner while she sleeps? If not, its game over, game over can also be achieved by dying.

While you protect the door, you'll have free roam to explore the house, and execute the monsters, but don't get too cosy, one of this games best features is that each game is different with random procedural generated houses, and after 10 waves, it will generate a new level.

So bring a friend or 3 in online co-op or play solo, and see how far you can make it.

Final Thoughts

The game design is cute, and it is pretty cool with a unique twist on the classic horde games that we all know and love like the popular Zombies mode from Call of Duty.

The graphical quality of the game is amazing, with great detail design for the enemies as well as the map creations, no 2 houses are ever the same. The sound quality is also pretty amazing too.

My only qualms with this game is that the enemies get overly strong past round 5, and the auto-aim on keyboard and mouse is ridiculous when aiming at the shadow men, it tends to drift down towards the feet.

Another thing to mention is that sometimes there is a small delay when using the ADS on weapons, which causes a small bit of lag when shooting, with a small delay of stopping shooting and going for Melee hits.

Rating

I would rate this a 4.

For the reasons mentioned above are just small quality of life things, but if fixed this would be an easy 5.

(5 being the absolute best)
