Oh yeah! Let's go! Blood, blood, and more blood!
Goblin Cleanup released in Early Access on 18 September 2025, developed by Crisalu Games and published by Team17. I was waiting for the game for so long! It was on my wishlist, and when it got released, I instantly got it and decided to make my friend get it too, and that's how my journey with the game started! As a big fan of Crime Scene Cleaner and PowerWash Simulator, I had no choice, right? I just love cleaning games overall, so why wouldn’t I want to try this one? It’s different too! Dungeons? Yes. Blood? Yes. And even more…There are meat pieces everywhere, furniture, and traps on the floor. It’s not just cleaning, it’s chaos!
So is there any story? Nah, there’s no story at all. You just host a lobby or join your friend’s lobby, unless you prefer solo, which is totally fine and jump into a dungeon! It’s not a problem that there’s no story. Sure, I appreciated the story in Crime Scene Cleaner, and I would enjoy one here too, but it’s totally fine without it. The rest isn’t boring at all, it’s fun!
And it’s special too! Let’s talk about the game basics. So, you take your mop… wait, what mop? Pff… there is no mop! Okay, one more try, you take your Slimop! It looks like a trident, and all you have to do is walk up to the big slime machine, press a lever, stab the slime with it and boom, you have got your Slimop. Easy, right? With your Slimop you can clean a blood, and after it became too dirty, all you do is putting your dirty bloody slime inside of a Mimic.
Have you heard of Frieren: Beyond Journey's End? If you did, it's exactly the same Mimic in Goblin Cleanup! He might eat you if you are not careful enough! There will be more blood and your meat to clean after and that's not the only thing which can kill you. Each map is different, has a lot of traps, so it's easy to get killed if you are not careful enough. Really often, you don't wanna get killed and it's not only because there will be more to clean. It's because the game also has challenges! So that's even more interesting, and pretty often you just wanna do them, because why not? They also unlock new maps and more cosmetics, so worth.
New maps also unlock new mechanics like fire slime, which cleans blood too! But you don’t need to replace your slime, just put it in the fire again, and you are ready to clean! Except cleaning, you also need to put objects back in their places like a chair, flowerpot, etc. You have a blue spot that shows where to place each object, and when you find it, you go back there and put it in its place. Easy, right? I actually love to do that too, it's not boring at all, and some maps are pretty big, so it takes a while to finish it. Each “place” has its own things to do and you can see everything on the left: missing blood, objects you still need to put in their place, meat to clean, and mana refill objects. You have something like a crystal ball, and you “charge” specific mana objects. If you charge too much, you might end up dying! It’s mostly torches or special mechanics that open your path.
I would say the biggest con of this game is the fact you can't save a level. If you start, it's best to go all the way to the end. Of course, you can leave the game whenever you want and you'll still get your rewards, but if you want to do 100% and finish all challenges, you'll need to do it again. There’s a good thing too, the maps don’t take longer than an hour, so it should be fine, right? They are quite big, but an hour is still a decent time for a map and with friends, it’ll be even less.
I recommend the game! It’s amazing and I can’t wait for future updates, I really love it! I know there will be more maps, and I’m excited for each one. I plan to finish the game at 100%! And no matter if you plan to play with friends or solo just do it, it’s worth it! It has some bugs, but it’s totally worth it!
