Monster Sanctuary Review
Developed by Moi Rai Games and published by Team 17 in December 2020, Monster Sanctuary is a creature collector 2D platformer RPG that a friend of mine was so enthusiastic upon playing that he bought a copy for all of his favorite people for Christmas in 2021 - rather rare for a single player game. As maybe a bit less of an enthusiast, it took me a few years to get started on it enough to really get into it, but once I did, I could certainly see the appeal. The game has a lot of complexity in combat and people
Ravenlok: Legendary Edition Review
Things were never easy.Moving away from friends, and the only home you’ve ever known. Away from the hustle and bustle of the city, and the convenience it brings. The inheritance from your grandmother was unexpected. A boon, for sure, but that did little to quell the uncertainty and discomfort change can bring. Stifling a yawn, you gently shut the book you were reading, leaning it against the beautiful and massive tree that was serving as your roost- ancient branches reaching skyward, thick foliage providing a canopy of shade. Yes, Your Grace Review
The air is thick with the smell of burning torches- hushed and frantic voices cutting through the normally serene twilight. The night was young, and it would be long, as had been many nights before it. Wooden stairs creak under leather-soles, as you make your way up the tower and out onto the chemin de ronde. Your kingdom is reliant on this. Locking eyes with of one of the newer recruits,
Scarlet Tower Review
A bead of sweat slowly trickles down wind-stung cheeks. A damp trail cuts through the layers of dirt coating your face, leaving a streaky trail in its wake. Moist earth compacts: pine needles, grass, and weeds, bits of bark pressed deep underfoot. Forging ahead, your lithe fingers wrap firmly around the hilt of your sword. Only a fool would sheathe their weapon now. Not in this darkness. Not in this forest. Not on this journey. In the darkness, the crimson smears across your blade glint in the moonlight-you’ve not had time to take proper care. No time to rest. A snapping
Arcade Tycoon Review
Arcade Tycoon is a business management simulation that was released on Steam in 2021 (after some time in Early Access) and rereleased on Nintendo Switch in January of 2024. I recently tried out the Switch version. This game is centered around nostalgia. The pixel graphics with their isometric view and grid-based object placement give off the feel of some of the classic "Tycoon" games, and the background music has a retro quality that imitates old-school themes. Machines and other items available to acquire for your gaming center are full of gaming references in title and design, and the general look and feel
