Medieval Crafter: Blacksmith Review

The smell of ash and soot fill the air- the unforgiving heat enveloping your short form. Droplets careen down your brow, carving out lighter markings where the soot once clung. The bead of moisture gets lost in the dense scruff of your beard as you wipe the sweat away in an attempt to keep it from your eyes before raising the hammer once more.  Another swing, landing with a resonant chorus. You couldn't just hear the metal, you could taste it. Smell it. Breathe it. Inhale- the hammer rises.Exhale- the hammer falls.CLANG!Again. The rhythm thrums like the very blood in your

Yooka-Re-Playlee Review

In 2017, Playtonic Games released what was to be considered a spiritual successor to the well-loved Banjo-Kazooie series: Yooka-Laylee. After kickstarting the project with a whopping 2 million, it was met with plenty of media attention, though initially it had mixed reviews. Despite the divide on if it's nostalgia of hardcore collectathon platforming was enough to carry it- it sits pretty on Steam with mostly positive reviews.  Now , here we are quite a few years later, presented with Yooka Re-Playlee. Gates of Eden Review

In what is described by developer Li Create as "Doom But in Heaven", I found myself easily suckered into giving their first title Gates of Eden a shot. Boasting a gorgeous and fanciful visual style, I think this was the sweet poison that initially drew me in, like honied words for The Deceiver himself. With such a fantastic visual direction, and a very interesting pretense for a plot, surely there is a (in the exact words of the Li Creates website) "...polished and emotionally resonant experience(s)" to be had... right? What you see is what you get. A single screen, your levels that

Ys IX: Monstrum Nox Review

Time to dive into Ys IX: Monstrum Nox, which was developed by Nihon Falcom and published by NIS America and released on PC on 6 July 2021. Are you guys ready for this one? After the amazing experience I had with Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of DANA (which I also reviewed right here: LINK), my expectations were really high this time!Once again, we’re back with Adol Christin, the red-haired adventurer. This time, he arrives in the city of Balduq… and gets arrested right away. Not a great start, huh? But quite interesting, at least for me...But things became even more crazy, a mysterious woman named Aprilis gives him

Static Dread: The Lighthouse Review

Things were well enough on the mainland. The sea air was intoxicating, the slightest haze swirling just above the waters surface. You flip open your tattered and worn wallet, index finger brushing across the faded and worn central point, digit gracing along that prominent outwards curve. The leather silently gives from years of use, calloused fingers producing a photo from it's central fold. Two pair of beautiful bright eyes and a set of warm smiles meet your gaze: Your lovely family. You wouldn't be out here for long. It would only be a few days before the next Keeper was on
