E3 The Conferences - Sony Playstation
Closing the conference schedule was Playstation's offering or, as they now call it, their E3 Media Showcase. Despite some technical difficulties, on Twitch at least, what was shown was strong. And this was "all about the games" once again, with no presentations by developers, only Shaun Layton appearing to welcome everyone and close out. But what was shown?Kicking off the show was a triple header, Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, Horizon Zero Dawn: The Frozen Wilds and a gameplay trailer of Days Gone. Showing off using the environment to work in your favor there was, unfortunately, no release date given.Monster Hunter World,

A few more games inspired by metal that I think are worth mentioning (I'll try to keep this up to date with any suggestions)
Heavy Metal Machines - A nice combination of Micro Machines and Motor Rock with more metal!
Rock God Tycoon - Essentially a Rock Band simulator.
Metal Tales: Fury Of The Guitar Gods - Top-down twin-stick arcade shooter made by metalheads for metalheads.
Painkiller: Hell & Damnation - 90s style first-person shooter with a metal soundtrack and gothic style
BDSM: Big Drunk Satanic Massacre - You play as Satan's son in a twin-stick shooter with a metal soundtrack and nude demons.
Slain: Back From Hell - A heavy metal inspired arcade combat and puzzle platformer.
Valfaris - Indirect sequel to Slain, with tighter controls, prettier graphics and heavier soundtrack,
Butcher - Known by some as the 2D DOOM or by me as Soldat with a heavy metal skin.
Charlie Murder - Control a punk rock band in a beat 'em up RPG set in the zombie apocalypse!
Death Goat - If DOOM was a twin-stick shooter and allowed you to play an a wheelchair bound OAP.
Rock 'N' Roll Defense - A tower defense game that involves keeping unwanted idiots away from the rock show.
A Story of a Band - A quirky little band management simulation game.
Ubermosh Series - Twin-stick series that involve slicing bullets with swords in gun-filled cyberpunk mosh pits.
And for those interested in the game mentioned a few comments above
Karmaflow: The Rock Opera - A puzzle platformer with a cast voiced entirely by metal musicians.July 18, 2020

I mean I guess that's all the original Doom games ever were? Only with even less story!
But I know what you mean about the repetitiveness of the more modern Doom games, I think the fact they're so intense and demanding means you actually get mentally exhausted after just a few hours, I completed the original Doom just a few weeks ago and I didn't get that same fatigue. I pre-ordered Eternal and I still haven't completed it! But I tend to take my time with games and I'm perfectly okay with taking up to a few years to complete a game, so long as I get there eventually.
With Doom and Wolfenstein thriving with modern releases, I think I'd really like to see a new take on the Quake series.May 06, 2020
