Our Time at EGX 2018

Once again we find ourselves at EGX. This year 3 members of the OP team went, and here are our thoughts:LEWISSo another year at EGX, and I still can't help but moan about the boring and uncreative art used at the entrance of EGX. A couple of shapes changed position and background patterns slightly changed up, but largely the same mundane and uninspiring signage. In no way does it get you excited for the event when you walk through what is essentially a large empty hall with nothing more than one large screen advertising a couple of the games at the

Opium Pulses Points Disabled in Store

We're very sad to announce that as of today Opium Pulses Loyalty Points have been disabled for purchasing games and software in the store due to the intense pressure we receive from users who increasingly and consistently commit acts of fraud against us, which in turn drains our funds and regularly halts positive development of our services.Loyalty Points for the foreseeable future will only be valid to spend in the Treasure Trove and to enter Giveaways, while PayPal and account credit remain standard payment methods for the store. We have been fighting this decision for many months and have always considered it

Lake Ridden Review

Lake Ridden a puzzle/Adventure game PS. This is not a horror game!Pros:Fun puzzles to solve that require some thinking.Beautiful atmosphere. The music is really nice as you walk around solving puzzles.Voice acting is pretty decent.Very well-written story.Great backstories. Some really well-placed sound effects. Some achievements for hunters out there.Pretty decent graphic settings.Controller support for Xbox and PS4 controllers.Cons:The game is a  little too pricey for how much you can do it in and how long the gameplay is.Conclusion:This game is a full adventure/puzzle game so if that’s not your thing you may not like it, I personally love a good puzzle game so no

Die for Valhalla! Review

What do you mean I can play only as a female?!Trying to keep up with the amount of goofy humor in Die for Valhalla! might be a way tougher nut to crack than explaining who we're actually playing as, so this quasi-sexist intro will have to do. While I do believe there is a place in videogames for good jokes, bad jokes as well as full seriosity, I can't get over the fact that the guys from Monster Couch didn't find place for a coherent narrative to the story their game tells. Even though the animated sketches where the game would

SCUM Review

First of all, sorry for my absence, but hey, what better way to come back to writting then to review a game that blew up on Steam, Twitch, Youtube etc. The devs were nice enough to provide me with the game so let's do this.An open-world, early access survival game with crafting mechanics and zombies… Have we stepped into a time portal back to 2013? Remember Dayz? Yeah, neither do I, that game was a huge success... and then it flopped... badly.  Despite being exhausted with that type of experience, SCUM is fantastic. It’s still very much an Early Access title

Dark Quest 2 Review

Darkness... Served sweet. But still somewhat insipid.Who knows? Maybe all these orcs, goblins, werewolves and undead creatures my team has cold-bloodedly murdered on their way to the not-so-grand finale all had their feelings, fears, dreams and hobbies? And maybe that "Evil Sorcerer" was in fact a friendly old man truly concerned about the raising of kids these days, wanting to run a campaign aimed to encourage them to read more books? You have nothing to rely on, but your own imagination when dealing with a story like the one presented by creators from Brain Seal Entertainment in the sequel of their

Death's Gambit - The Good, The Bad and The Beautiful

The Good.Death's gambit is beautifully crafted, and unafraid of changing the aesthetics of the game sometimes in order to create a unique level and experience, the game derives heavily from dark souls with healing and resting and souls mechanics but also leaves room for plenty of appealing original concepts such as characters, dialogues, storytelling, weapon movesets, individual-map-objectives and the use of purchasable special moves that can be combined with other special moves to better fit a players style. Not to mention some really cool and creative monster visual designs that range from familiar humanoids to crazy reality-bending fish monsters. If you are

The History of Valve & How Their Games Began

Valve Corporation was born on August 24th, 1996 founded by former Microsoft employees Mike Harrington and Gabe Newell. In Valve's early days, the company's structure was similar to most development team, driven by the development of physical games released to a level of quality under a deadline by their then publishers. In 2000, a few years after the release of their first commercial game, Mike Harrington left the company. The company’s focus has changed largely in recent years to development of their Steam software and hardware such as the HTC Vive.Half-LifeTheir first release under the Valve name came in 1998. The project

The Crew 2 Review and Visual Comparisons.

The Crew 2 so far is a huge step backwards in visual design and fidelity, the game seems to lack a certain love for attention to detail that the previous title had. I been wondering if the issues found in the game would be something to be fixed later with a patch, so far the game on release and Beta has had several imperfections and lacks what we call "Quality Of Life" features and optimizations. In the first The Crew game, everything felt alive and entertaining to look at while driving around. You could just randomly place a waypoint anywhere in the
